Mari Lwyd and her procession visit a cottage in rural Wales and challenges the family inside to a contest, if they win she’ll leave. Unable to remember enough verses of a folk song, they lose the game and the visitors are allowed into the Christmas party.
since tumblr just committed suicide, i’ll be posting art on my twitter from now on @ gapvarginnunga
and i’ll be posting my regular stuff on the same twitter account since this blog is marked sensitive and will disappear as well.
i’m also on mastodon ginnungagap@queer.party
downloading and backing up all my tumblr blogs at the last minute and I keep having weird feelings about this.
i mean, i’ve been on this website for ten years and for a long time i used it as my main way of documenting my life as well as curating content and imagery that inspires me, both regarding my artwork and my heathen faith.
feels strange knowing that such a big chunk of my life will be hidden and deleted because i, as a grown adult, have used this place to document and curate my sexuaity, which is a very important part of me as a person. feels strange knowing how many other queer people’s blogs will be hidden and deleted for the same reason. feels fucked up knowing that queer people have always had their sexuality policed. fucked up knowing how many sex workers are thrown under the bus because of this.
i also fucking hate this website for the incredibly toxic atmosphere it cultivated, so i’m glad it’s dying. i’ve never been at a place as bad as tumblr was, but i also made a lot of friends here and came across so much beautiful and inspiring content, so that’s why i stayed.
anyway godspeed i’ll reblog my twitter post again because i will literally be gone from here tomorrow. i can’t wait for something like y!gallery 2.0 to resurrect itself so i can go back to my roots.
The body pattern is interpreted as the animal’s internal organs. The line from the elk’s mule and down into an oval shape in the chest region, is described as the lifeline and the heart.
